Clip Chart

I have used the Clip Chart in my classroom for the last year and a half and have loved the results!!
I made this one very quickly out of construction paper and it served its purpose, but I had to send it to File 13 at the end of this year because it was very faded and well... it's just not cute enough!! :)
One of the many things on my To Do List this summer was to make a new one... and I finally did!!!  Better late than never!!!  Well, it's not all the way made, but I finished the labels for it tonight so I am one step closer and I want to share them with you all!

You can find them HERE!!

You can also find it HERE!!

  3. Thanks for sharing! I have been considering starting this with my kids this year. I've always done the pull card system in the past and looking for a change. Would you mind sharing some more info on how this works? My email is edelk@allonselementary.com

    THANKS!

  5. Is there any reasoning behind the order of colors? Rainbow? I like the idea of being able to move UP! In the past I had "glad green"' yikes yellow", "rough red", and "bummer blue". Hmmm...maybe I need to change it up a bit!
    How about them apples?"

  8. Did this work with all of your students? Did you have to have individual behavior charts for those this didn't work with? Also, do you have a note explaining this to parents? Or a daily communication log that went with this?

  9. Mrs. Dahl - believe it or not it does work for most of my students. There will always be that child that it won't work for and yes, I have a separate more specific chart for them. I am going to post my parent note explaining my discipline policy and behavior calendar. :)

  10. Do you have a copy of your DOT book that you could share or that's on your TPT store?

  11. I love clip charts for behavior! I used one in elementary before and a red, yellow, green for preschool. Behavior and attendance all in one! In my three year old class, they sat in circle first thing and I helped them identify there name on the clip to put on chart until they were all able to find their name on their own! And yes, some kids had to have an individual chart alotting them 3 errors a day to still meet goal (barring hurting someone).

  12. Thank you so much for sharing these and your letter to the parents. I'm so going to use this instead of what I originally had planned.

  13. I teach fifth grade and I was looking for a behavior device to use with the 75 kids (three classes) I will be teaching. I love this, and I think that I'd ACTUALLY be able to fit 75 clothes pins on that. I'm also using your rules and ideas from your DOT book. My students are given planners, but they can be modified. You and your website are wonderful!
