Welcome to The Polka Dot Patch and my adventures in kindergarten! I am so happy to finally have a place where I can share all the wonderful things that are happening in my kindergarten classroom. My name is Mrs. Ashley Nichols and I have been teaching for 16 years. For the last 10 years I have taught kindergarten and have loved every minute of it! I hope you enjoy watching my students grow and learn as much as I do! Please contact me if you have any questions or comments about my class!!

This is great. Thank you so much for sharing! We play a game in the classroom counting by tens. All the students line up in a row facing me. I will start with a random student and we will count aloud as a class from 10 to 100. I am nicely pointing to each studnet as we count. If I am pointing at the student at 100, he/she will sit down. We will continue to count together until one person is standing...which is the winner! They love this game!!!

We did this today in my class to prepare for the 100th day, which is coming up in a week. We glued them to sentence strips and made them into a hat. The kids loved it! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI just started blogging and found your blog. Love it!
